*Job Description:*
The Computer and Information Systems (CIS) Specialist is responsible for the setup and maintenance of the company’s computer systems.
Will ensure computers within the company's network, and especially the server, are operating smoothly and securely.
Will plan, coordinate, and direct computer-related activities by determining the technology needs of the company and making hardware- and software-related decisions to meet those needs.
*Essential Function and Responsibilities:*
* Collaborates with users, vendors, technicians, and managers to understand and assess computing and system needs and requirements.
* Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.
* Setup detailed user access control and system security.
* Communicates the goals, policies, and procedures of the company regarding the computers and systems; develops documentation and plans to implement these needs.
* Evaluates current technology use and needs of the company and recommends software and hardware improvements.
* Assists with backup, security, and user help systems.
* Remains current on advances in technology; assist in the analysis, design and development of new technology.
* Provides technical support and training to users as needed.
* Prepares and delivers operational or project progress reports.
* Assists with operational budget and expenditures.
* Manages onboarding and off-boarding of users.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
*Position Qualifications:*
* Degree or certification in computer science, information systems, or information technology.
* Fluent in a variety of programs and software: i.
e.
networking, server administration and maintenance and database required.
* Virtualization and cyber security a plus.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
* Thorough understanding of CIS principles, programs, policies and procedures.
* Excellent organizational skills, with ability to prioritize work.
* Ability to explain technical problems and offer solutions to those without technological training.
*Working Conditions:*
* Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
