Responsible for coordinating all intake requests with clinical liaisons and physicians, verifying insurances and obtaining authorizations as necessary, working with internal staff to determine preparedness for incoming patient, and communicating admission as necessary.
Maintains and communicates census records including admissions, discharges, room changes, transfers, etc.
Works closely with Marketing Department to ensure proper flow of intakes, accuracy of data received and entered.
Works closely with all payers and customers, ensuring accurate knowledge of facility, services provided and outcomes.
Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.
Supervises Admissions team.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities include: 1.
Coordinates admissions activity of all patients; directs and delegates tasks and responsibilities to Admissions Representative(s), Receptionist, Unit Secretary(ies), etc.

Completes admission paperwork including obtaining appropriate signatures and reviews information with patient and family.
Inputs data into patient accounting system.
3.
Coordinates and facilitates daily Operations Meetings by communicating updated referral/admission information.
4.
Communicates referral and admission information to appropriate personnel.
5.
Verifies patient’s insurance information including benefits, coverages, limits, billing information, etc.
In accordance with policy, communicates this information accordingly and submits it into Business Office.
6.
Works with internal staff, including Clinical Liaisons and physicians, to ensure referrals and admissions are handled appropriately and to the benefit of the patient.
7.
Implements efficient processes to continually improve the flow of information to Clinical Liaisons, physicians, case managers, nursing, therapy and all departments involved in patient care.
8.
Maintains current and accurate referral logs, admission statuses, and patient listings for distribution to all necessary personnel.
9.
Notifies all appropriate departments of census changes, to include admission status, date and time, room changes, transfers, discharges, etc.
10.
Conducts tours of the facility as necessary.
11.
Performs other duties as assigned.
*Minimum Education and Experience* · One (1) year experience in Business Office or Admissions Office in a medical setting preferred.
· OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities* · Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
· Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
· Effective organizational and time management skills.
· Effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
· Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $55,000.
