Summary
Responsibilities include management and supervision of: Physical Plant Services; Heating and Cooling Central Plants; custodial contract services; building maintenance; departmental personnel; supervision of outside contractors hired for maintenance and remodeling projects.

edu/hr/benefits/ Principal Functional Responsibilities 1) Supervise heating and cooling central plants and maintenance personnel; responsible for replacement and repair of mechanical equipment and preventative maintenance.
2) Provide estimates, and order materials for chargeback projects; schedule and record departmental materials; consult on equipment purchases; assess work on existing water lines and electricity to accommodate new equipment.
Plan, coordinate and oversee in-house campus moves and remodeling.
3) Develop programs for the improvement of energy conservation.
Assist in establishing and monitoring service contracts with outside vendors.
4) Oversee semi-annual and annual inspections of fire safety equipment.
5) Provide leadership and day-to-day supervision of Physical Plant Services.
6) Manage custodial contract and supervise custodial personnel.
7) Act for Director of Campus Operations, in the Director’s absence or as required.
8) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education/Degrees: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline or the equivalent in education and experience; appropriate State of Ohio licensure Experience: • Background knowledge in HVAC, electrical repair, plumbing and boiler operation • Six (6) or more years’ experience in maintenance field • Minimum four (4) to five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory role Key Skills, Personal Characteristics, and Key Competencies Ability to be on call 24 hours per day.
Knowledge of management, labor relations and safety practices.
Excellent supervisory skills.
Skill in maintenance and all necessary crafts utilized at NEOMED including electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Ability to operate a computer; proficient in Microsoft Office software.
