We are professional, agile and our goal is to Grace House Akron provides a caring environment for hospice enrolled individuals and are without a caregiver, an able caregiver or cannot afford a private caregiver.
Grace House Akron is grounded in the knowledge that there are too many individuals in our community, who are at the end of life, with nowhere to go, and no one to care for them.
We believe that everyone deserves to die in the presence of care, compassion, and dignity, and that no one should die alone.

Our work environment includes: * Modern office setting * Food provided *Grace House Akron aims to provide a caring environment for individuals with terminal illness who are without caregivers and housing insecure, and face spending their last days or weeks alone or in undesirable conditions.
*Grace House provides those at the end of life, in conjunction with partner hospice teams, a nurturing environment, basic physical needs (food, safe shelter and personal care), dignity, comfort and compassion, and emotional and spiritual support.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), the Clinical Manager assists the Executive Director in all matters as required to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for residents, volunteers and staff.
*Qualifications*: Mission oriented and able to recognize, accept and follow the mission of Grace House.
Previous Hospice experience.
Previous management experience preferred.
Knowledge of computer operation including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing, preferred.
*RESPONSIBILITIES: INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:* · Recognize, accept and support the mission of Grace House.
· Assist the Executive director in all matters as required to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for residents, volunteers and staff.
· Oversee, support and evaluate Caregivers in role performance.
· Oversee hiring and orientation of care staff.
· Ensure smooth functioning of the household.
· Provide emotional support and education to guests and their families during the dying process.
· Ensure professional communication with guests’ hospice, family members and other caregivers.
· Collaborate with hospices, hospitals and community organizations processing referrals for services.
· Ensure that routine personal care is provided in accordance with the GHA standards.
· Assure daily documentation for each resident and maintain appropriate guest records in confidence and in compliance with GHA policies.
· Oversee chart audit process.
· Oversee staff scheduling.
· Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator in training and supervision of volunteers.
· Assume responsibility of 24/7 clinical operations in the absence of the Executive Director.
· Perform other relevant duties as required.
· Keep informed of current trends and standards of practice in the field of Hospice and Palliative Care.
· Serves as an advocate for Grace House residents.
* Effectively orients*, trains*, and monitors supervised employees in job duties.
Assists in developing training plan for new employees.
Assists with keeping the training manual current.
* Conducts effective and timely performance evaluations and processes paperwork appropriately for supervised employees.
* Effectively addresses disciplinary issues with supervised employees; accurately and thoroughly documents and processes disciplinary actions in a timely manner and in accordance with policies and procedures.
* Coordinates all aspects of resident care with the appropriate staff members and community partner, from admission through discharge of the patient.
· Manage referral information to facilitate admissions.
· Maintain accurate census information in data base form.
· Evaluate and review all prospective residents with Executive Director.
· Maintain a professional relationship with all referral sources.
· Share on call time with Executive Director.
· Interview and onboard prospective employees.
· Complete employee evaluations.
· Participate in meetings as requested or required.
· Coordinate in-services and training with the Executive Director and according to staff needs, to facilitate development and training of staff.
· Assume Executive director’s role in his/her absence.
· Serve as liaison between staff and hospice staff as necessary.
· Manages all policies and guidelines as set forth in the Grace House Employee handbook and the policies/ procedures book.
· Maintain Quality Assurance and Improvement program.
* Ability to be self-directed in role.
*Qualifications* · Current license as Registered Nurse in Ohio.
· Hospice Experience strongly preferred.
· Previous management experience preferred .
· Knowledge of guest comfort and personal care.
· Strong communication skills.
· Basic management/supervisory skills.
· Solid computer and general office skills.
· Pass a criminal background check and drug screen · Willingness to work flexible hours, according to the needs of residents and Grace House.
· Proven ability to deal effectively with diverse groups of people and provide leadership.
· Complete required GHA training and periodic updates.
· Attendance reliability.
· Ability to lift 35 pounds · Flu and Covid-19 vaccines required.
