Physicians Ambulance is an Accredited Learning Center, with 4 EMS-Is on staff! Duties: - Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide medical assistance to patients in need out of lower tiered hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and designated events - Assess patients' conditions and determine the appropriate course of action - Administer medications and perform medical procedures as necessary - Transport patients safely to medical facilities while providing continuous care - Document patient information, treatment provided, and response to treatment - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care - Maintain and clean medical equipment and supplies Skills: - Proficient in venipuncture for blood draws and IV placement - Excellent patient care skills, including compassion, empathy, and effective communication - Knowledge of durable medical equipment (DME) and ability to operate and maintain it properly - Strong patient assessment skills to quickly evaluate and prioritize medical needs - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for safe transportation of patients - In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and physiology for accurate assessment and treatment - Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to assist patients or move equipment - Familiarity with medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals - Competence in conducting physical examinations to gather important patient information - Experience in medication administration, including proper dosage calculation and route of administration This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
