Summary :
An Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) is a professional registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who offers individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to identify and help overcome healthcare system barriers.
Utilizing the nursing process, an oncology nurse navigator provides resources and education to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to quality health, psychosocial, supportive, and survivorship care throughout all phases of the cancer care con¬tinuum.
The ONN will work collaboratively with the health care team to assess, plan, facilitate, track, and monitor patients with cancer.
The ONN works closely with the patient/family; makes appropriate referrals to meet the patient’s individual, cultural, spiritual needs, and monitors and evaluates services provided.
Formal Education Required :
a.
Registered nurse with current license to practice in the State of Ohio
b.
Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing required- Master’s degree preferred
c.
Certification in Navigation will be required within a time frame- coordinated with manager
Experience and training required :
a.
Five years of nursing experience or three years’ experience in oncology

Ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and provide leadership, shared knowledge, and expertise for advancing the navigational role and developing collegial relationships both internally and externally with providers and community.

Ability to apply principles of nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate oncology care.

Strong organizational skills

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials.
Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
