Position Summary Provides trauma-informed individual and group counseling services to survivors of sexual violence and intimate partner violence in Summit and Medina Counties.
Demonstrates knowledge, sensitivity, respect, and empathy with survivors from a wide range of demographic, religious and cultural identities.
Job Description Required Education, Experience and Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work with LSW/LISW or Master’s degree in Counseling with LPC/LPCC Clinical training in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities, and/or experience working with survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, and/or victims of crime preferred Maintain valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
Role and Responsibilities Assess survivors regarding their need for services Provide trauma-informed individual counseling to survivors and co-survivors of sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking Facilitate various support groups at administrative offices, as well as community-based support groups Assess and diagnose mental health conditions; collaboratively develop and implement effective treatment plans Maintains accurate documentation and statistic information regarding clinical work with survivors Submits all documentation in a timely manner in accordance with program deadlines Coordinates service plans with other service providers as needed Assists survivors in the process of testifying or otherwise participating in court procedures Spends approximately 75% of time in direct client services activities Provides education and training to staff and other allied professionals Maintain confidentiality of information learned through one’s employment at the Rape Crisis Center and Battered Women’s Shelter Maintain anonymous/confidential record-keeping for all survivors and co-survivor contacts Work closely with allied professionals and all victim advocacy agencies to ensure collaboration and cross training Represent the agency in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as assigned by supervisor ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Adheres to Service Excellence standards at all times Represent the Battered Women’s Shelter and Rape Crisis Center, by participating in community activities, coalitions and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
Complies with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Work environment: This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
In addition to interaction with the survivors, the employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants and law enforcement.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work · This is a full-time, exempt position.
Occasional evening and weekend work hours will be required.
This position has a flexible schedule for the purpose of meeting the responsibilities of the role.
