As the Optical Lab Technician, 3rd Shift, working onsite in Barberton/Norton, OH, you will be responsible for lab testing to support a 24/7/365 optical production operation.
This position reports to a Lab Quality Supervisor.
This is a 3rd shift position working 11pm to 7am on a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
Main Responsibilities:
Follow established procedures and guidelines to perform routine laboratory procedures to test the quality of the organizations in- process products, finished products and environmental byproducts.
Perform routine quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis to verify process conditions.
Record results, perform calculations, and communicate to production.
Follow instructions and checklists to set-up equipment and apparatus, mix chemical solutions for use in tests and troubleshooting issues that could arise.
Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and one or more years of chemistry/biology/lab experience OR a BA/BS in Chemistry or Biology
Ability to perform quality testing using GC, HPLC, IC
Strong organizational skills, troubleshooting abilities, and the ability to follow instructions and work independently
This is a rotating shift -weekend and holiday work is required
