Job Title: Welder Fitter-Quick Turn Shift: 1st Shift FLSA Status: Full-time, Hourly SUMMARY Fits and welds fabricated, cast, and forged Ferrous and Non Ferrous material components to assemble by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Analyzes engineering data and welds prototype parts and assemblies to determine most effective welding processes, using various welding techniques and equipment where production fixtures do not exist.
Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is available.
Lays out parts and assemblies according to blueprint specifications.
Develops templates, jigs and other work aids to hold and align parts.
Bolts, clams, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding Uses various cutting methods to make or modify parts, such as saws, torches, plasma cutters, etc.
Uses equipment such as drill presses, cut off wheels, grinders, & various other hand tools.
Determines type of welding to be used, applying knowledge of metals to be joined, contours and angles to be formed, and specified stress tolerances.
Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, and adjusts amperage, voltage, and speed during joining to assure required weld deposit.
Inspects grooves, angles, gap allowances, and related aspects of assembly to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
May assemble parts by bolting, riveting, or gluing.
Proficient in Aluminum/Stainless Tig and Mig welding including other Ferrous and Non Ferrous material.
Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school, plus three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
