NCD Freight LLC is currently seeking an experienced Non-CDL 26 Ft Box Truck Driver to join our team! This is a full time position (1099 Contractor).
You will be responsible for safely operating a straight truck with a capacity maximum of 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).
This position is affiliated with Roadrunner and hired driver will be required to pass their process checks also.
Typical hours 8a-6p M-F Total weekly miles driven 500-750 miles Responsibilities: Safely operate a CMV (Commercial Motor Vehicle) in compliance with FMCSA Able to use ELD (Electronic Logging Device) and complete company paperwork Properly track and document activity log Report any issues or incidents to dispatch At times driver will be responsible for loading truck and or assisting offloading at customer sites using manual pallet jack and hand cart Maintain records required with compliance with local, state and federal regulations Insure security of equipment and cargo Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe working conditions of the straight truck prior to each trip and at the end of each trip Check gauges and visual indicators for malfunctions, ensure seal or lock on rear gate and conducts inspection of vehicle before and during trips to determine problems that may be occurring Promptly report all maintenance problems to supervisor Verify unit numbers versus paperwork given and report any discrepancies to your supervisor Required to use in-cab technology, to include electronic logs, GPS, cameras, and other items Provide professional and courteous service to our customers and the general public Operational, safety, and other needs may require the employee to perform any and all other duties as assigned While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles The employee may be required to work in high/precarious places, with hazardous materials, and in various weather conditions Employees are expected, and must be able to perform all such duties and tasks Qualifications: 21 years of age required per FMCSA regulations (1 year driving experience required) High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background Valid Driver's License (CDL not required) and DOT Medical Card for Non-CDL Driving per FMCSA (Required) MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) report that shows consistent safe practices and behaviors in both personal and commercial vehicles PSP (Pre-Employment Screening Program) report that shows consistent safe practices and behaviors Clean Criminal Background Check Clean Drug Screen Must reside within 60 miles of the domiciled terminal and/or work assignment (Zip code 44264) Must posses Android or iPhone smartphone with intermediate knowledge utilizing required applications Straight truck driving experience OTR -Regional for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of no more than 26,000 lbs.
Minimum 1 year of verifiable driving experience in similar or heavier equipment within the last 3 years (Required) Must be able to drive a straight truck for a period of time that will conform to FMCSA requirements Must pass a road test and be able to drive all routes and in all types of terrain, including, but not limited to, mountains, steep inclined roads, curvy highways, desert areas, bridges, tunnels, etc.
Must be able to drive in a wide range of environmental conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, wind, snow, freezing temperatures, hot weather, etc.
Ability to handle physical workload Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct Must be able to interact well with others Strong work ethic Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting Must be capable of working under time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Previous satisfactory and sustained work history Must read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records Must be familiar with state motor vehicle laws and FMCSA rules and regulations Benefits: 1099 contract position Time and a half over 8 daily hours Paid weekly (Cash App Deposit) We encourage minorities and females to apply Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.
