Summary:
Manage and leads a team of employees.
Communicates company goals, safety practices, and quality guidelines to team.
Motivates team members and assesses performance.
Keeps management updated on team performance.
Communicates concerns and policies among management.
Essential Duties and Responsabilities:
Provide encouragement to team members, creating an environment of trust, open communication, and cohesion.
Lead by setting a good example; behavior consistent with words.
Ensure operators are doing 2-hour checks; assist operators in sorting to ensure product meets quality guidelines.
Facilitate problem solving and collaboration; help resolve dysfunctional behavior and provide reports to the management.
Perform operator onboard training with new hires and/or temporary employees.
Answer team members questions, help with their problems, and oversee their work for quality and safety compliance, including food safety issues, sanitary conditions, and proper hygiene.
Promote team member adherence to company policy, procedures, and performance goals.
Conduct team meetings to update operators on best practices and continuing expectations.
Serve as a focal point to communicate and resolve issues with other teams and departments.
Report all quality and technical issues to the shift technician.
Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about operator’s performance.
Report problems or concerns with quality using the proper quality documents.
Complete required documentation; provide daily production reports via email.
Manage machine assignments and time usage by staff including break time.
Cover operator’s lunch/dinner and break times.
Use measuring tools to perform product specification verifications.
Validate each production line is using the raw materials shown on the work order.
Perform label and color changes.
Approve/acknowledge quality of parts after press repair.
Manage non-conforming parts so Quality and the Warehouse can follow up accordingly.
Other duties as assigned by the Management.
Educations and/or Experience:
2 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or related.
High school diploma or equivalent and a general knowledge of HACCP, Biosecurity, and other food safety programs (desired).
Requirements:
Computer and printer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be dependable.
Be able to speak, listen and openly communicate with team members as needed.

Safety glasses and steel-toed boots are not required for this position.
Requirements are tied shoes, long pants, lab coats and hair nets.
Hair net and lab coat are provided.
