GPD Group is looking to add a summer intern to our growing Application Development team.
The Intern Application Developer will work closely with our professional team Application Developers to create applications for internal business process improvement and efficiency.
All applications run in a Microsoft corporate network environment using modern programming tools, languages, and frameworks.
The ideal candidate will be a great fit within the GPD culture, working in our Akron, Ohio office on a full-time basis during the summer of 2024 (roughly May through August).
Internship Qualifications:
In process to obtain Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
Junior status preferred but not required.
1-2 years’ experience creating applications and web pages to address various needs.
Experience with Microsoft development technologies is preferred.
Experience with the following is preferred:
Microsoft .
NET Core technologies
API, HTML, and SQL Server systems.
Javascript, C#, CSS and other common languages.
Demonstrated understanding of application design and programming principles.
Demonstrated problem solving and communication skills.
Working in a team environment with moderate oversight.
Day-to-day Job Responsibilities:
Engage with the GPD development team to refine and clarify application design requirements.
Design and develop program logic for new applications.
Write code and perform testing and debugging of applications to meet requirements of the stakeholders.
Develop and implement enhancements or revisions in existing applications to meet the needs of the stakeholders.
Work with senior developers and other IT managers in the execution of projects, project management, and related activities.
Assist in the training of end-users on systems applications, creating help documentation as appropriate.
