A DMIR is an individual appointed in accordance with 14 CFR §183.

A DMIR conducts conformity inspections during the manufacturing process.
DMIRs also issue certificates such as airworthiness certificates for aircraft, export certificates for aircraft and parts, and special flight permits.
A DMIR must possess aeronautical knowledge and experience, be employed by a Production Approval Holder (PAH), or a PAH's approved supplier, and meet the qualification requirements of Order 8000.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •As an FAA Designated Manufacturing Inspection Representative, (DMIR), will issue 8130-3 Airworthiness Certificates for Spares, MRO and OE units.
•Source Inspect and release Spares and OE Units and components under the applicable company delegations.
•Perform Customer Delegated Source Inspections as assigned.
•Representative responsibilities include review of product and documentation, dimensional inspection of sampled characteristics, generate source inspection records and documentation required to ship the product.
•Documents data obtained during all source inspection activities, consistent with company and customers policies and procedures.
•Maintains a working knowledge of government and Customer quality assurance codes and standards.
•Position requires accuracy and thoroughness; continually looking for ways to improve and promote quality; applying feedback to improve performance; and continual monitor or own work to ensure quality.
•Inspects mechanical and electrical parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies during the in process, and final inspections.
•Generates and files the necessary inspection data sheets and documentation for recording and reporting of inspection results.
•Performs visual soldering inspection per requirements of governing standards.
•Responsible for identification, documentation, and securing of nonconforming parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies & submissions to the Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition.
•Review and approval of First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with the applicable procedures and SAE AS9102.
•Works effectively with all internal departments, customers, and Regulatory Agencies to exceed internal and external expectations for customer satisfaction.
•Provides inspection feedback to suppliers and other departments to improve quality.
•Assures compliance to Internal, Customer, Statutory, and Regulatory Agency (FAA, EASA, ITAR, etc.

•Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions (RCCA/CAPA) •Provide guidance to entire Quality team in relation to how to perform Releases.
•Demonstrated experience in a team environment, balancing team and individual responsibilities •Must be a U.

Job requirements Education and/or Experience: •Associates Degree in a related field preferred; BS degree a plus.
•Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience in FAA certification of aircraft systems and equipment installations •Inspection experience for electrical and mechanical components.
•Prior FAA DMIR and/or Delegated Manufacturing Inspection Representative preferred; •Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical information.
•Proficient with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
•Capable of achieving necessary delegations from customers, FAA and other regulatory bodies.
•Applicant must have documented knowledge of the following: •Use of FAA-approved type design data.
•First article, in-process, and final assembly inspections.
•Quality assurance provisions of special processes (e.

, heat treating, brazing, welding, carbonizing, and plating).
•Destructive and nondestructive inspections.
