THE ROLE You will play a key role in this mission by assisting design engineers with multiple tasks involving the mechanical engineering functions in the Customer Support Engineering Group.
Through this position, you will assist with aspects of sustainment engineering to support the manufacture of current products as well as support legacy products.
Some aspects include determining failure trends, troubleshooting issues, design improvements to existing products, support supply chain issues, support vendor issues, etc.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
Prepare vehicle component layouts using CREO software Select parts or components for quality conscious design, i.
e.
, weight, cost, reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
Follow project on the assembly floor for prototype, pilot, or production build and provide technical assistance Generate engineering calculations of weight distribution, stress analysis, performance estimations, etc.
Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions to problems Perform or assist in the testing of complete vehicles or vehicle components Develop and exercise reliability mathematical models Analyze field warranty data and prototype test data for failure trends WHAT YOU NEED You're a student working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field.
